The March winds whip defiantly at anything uncovered or unsupported, scattering debris about. Our side gate which has been battered these past couple of weeks finally gave up the ghost and came away from its wooden moorings, sending it crashing to the ground with a thunderous clatter. The sun occasionally peeps through the rain-laden clouds then thinks better of it. Looking through the windows amid the sanctuary of a warm double-glazed home I espy the tender new leaves and various garden sproutings taking the full force of these Springtime gusts. Nature is awakening after the deep slumbers of Winter. Crocuses have given way to daffodils and the floor of the local copse is now carpeted in a joyous wash of colour. I love this time of year.
