Bloody computer....

posted Wednesday, 17 December 2008
I will never understand computers.  For some reason, music played through Windows Media Player is now skipping a LOT and it’s annoying me.  I’ve tried listening to the tracks (which played perfectly well until today) through RealPlayer and the same thing’s occurring.  What the hell is going on?!?!?!?!?  There are no loose connections anywhere and the same tracks have been loaded on my media player and they sound fine.  Any ideas folks?  Is there any way around it?

Skipping of mp3s can be caused by insufficient available processor time. Is anything else going on in the background which could be tying up the cpu?

Anyway, wishing you a merry Christmas and a brilliant new year.

Thanks Phil for the advice, nope nothing's going on in the background while the media player is doing its thang. I've run my spyware and anti-virus programmes and the system's clean. I've cleared out all unnecessary files and run a defrag and it's still skipping. I've even changed the buffering settings on the player but to no avail. I hope you had a lovely Christmas and here's hoping 2009 is a great year for you and yours xxx
